The Reis winery is located in the picturesque wine-growing village of Briedel on the Mosel. We—Nicole and Achim Reis, along with our children Aaron, Vitus, and Jasper—are passionate winemakers. Our family-owned steep-slope winery is now in its sixteenth generation. Working in this small but exquisite business (www.reisfeineweine.de) actually keeps us plenty busy.
At our headquarters, the need for a core renovation of several aging building wings had been apparent for some time. This was repeatedly postponed, as it presented us with the task of deciding on the design and future use of these premises. In the end, we approached this challenge more emotionally than rationally.
In February 2025, the “Staying at the Winery” project began: offices, storage rooms, empty children’s rooms, and warehouses were to be transformed into vacation apartments. Apartments we would want for our own vacations. The goal was to preserve the charm and identity of our Mosel vintner’s house while combining it with modern living comfort and panorama-oriented interior design. After 16 months of construction, we are convinced we’ve succeeded and are proud to offer Achim’s brand-newly redesigned childhood home as a base for your vacation starting in the summer of 2026.
